Gratitude is being thankful. People who take time to notice and reflect upon the things they're thankful for will feel more positive. Gratitude helps you grow. Gratitude brings joy to you and the people around you.

Gratitude activities:

Write in a gratitude journal. Daily or weekly write some things you are grateful for and why. It can be a good meal, talking to a friend, or getting through a challenge.

Take gratitude photos. Take a picture of something that you are thankful for like a food, object, person, place, or something in nature.

Make a gratitude collage. Cut out pictures of things you are grateful for and then use the pictures to create a collage.

Make a gratitude paper chain. Write what you are thankful for on strips of paper and use the strips to make a chain to hang up.

Write a gratitude letter or email to the community. Write to the police, fire station, hospital, teacher, or school staff and tell them you are thankful for the service they do to help the community.

Write your own gratitude quote or think about a gratitude quote someone has said and what it means.

Make a gratitude jar. Each day write down what you are grateful for on a small piece of paper and fill the jar. Some days take a few notes out of the jar to remind yourself of what is good in your life. Gratitude ideas include to think of something you are grateful for like an animal, friend, family member, person you know, something in your home, a place you visited, or something that you can sense (hear, see, smell, taste, or touch).

Take a gratitude walk. Go for a walk and make an effort to appreciate your surroundings. You might notice the smell of flowers, a nice building, or a gentle breeze. Use your senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch) to find new things you may not have noticed.
